...it's been such a busy last few weeks here Chez Strachan, mainly because I had a new pile of DoCraft product to sort through and make some pretty projects with. The kit contained beautiful Gorjuss A4 Ultimate Paper Pack, stamps, vellum, watercolour pens, the latest and final Geometric Kraft Ultimate paper pack with various embellishments (saving the best for last with this one - I love it!), and the brand new Mr Smith's Workshop A4 Ultimate Paper Pack with mini tool embellishments and brads. Also included were 2 brand new die sets to play with - Filigree Teatime set complete with the cutest biscuit dies and new Woodland Flourishes featuring a cute squirrel, bird and spotty toadstool.
We are all given some pics of projects we can either copy exactly or use as inspiration for our own samples so the following pics are some of the cards I made for my demonstration...
This last Gorjuss pic is my first ever pop up box card - I was really surprised how quickly it actually came together. Loving those die cut fronds! Really versatile!
Next up is the Geometric Kraft set
I decided to try putting the patterned papers through an embossing folder and loved the result. It made it look a bit fabricy! Check out the first two pics above - one embossed with a Moroccan Squares folder and the other with a honeycomb folder. This really worked well with these busy geometric patterns an it's something I will be trying again although it might not work with all papers.
As always, it was a pleasure to interact with some enthusiastic crafters, to hear their tips and stories.
My table was busy with samples and I'm so annoyed I forgot to take lots more pics of the stuff I made on the day. Here's a look at my samples in situ. Stay tuned for some makes featuring Mr. Smith's Workshop coming up next post, including a tutorial for a cute tool chest card. I'm off to catch up with housework/gardening and grocery shopping to appease my poor neglected family... (joking!!! - they love living like pigs!!)
Haha,
Thankyou for your visit!
